Read on to learn more about soccer classes, and how to get your child involved.
Why Soccer Class?
Soccer (or football, as non-Americans call it) is a beloved sport all over the world. Only requiring a field, a ball, and enough people for two teams, it’s an accessible activity for people of all abilities.
The excitement of scoring a goal, and the bonding that comes from working together to help your team win, is enjoyed by children and adults alike. The watching crowd cheering only adds to an already thrilling experience: all while getting the exercise necessary to keep healthy.
What To Expect In Soccer Class
While soccer is a game of fun, it’s also one of skill. Kids will learn some fundamentals to play their best, including:
How To Pass

Passing the ball is a crucial part of teamwork. Transferring the ball between teammates is how the ball is effectively maneuvered across the field and, hopefully, into the goal net of the opposing team. Kids will first learn short passes, and eventually long passes that include specific body coordination, speed skills and proximity, and awareness of team placement on the field.
Kids will also learn the right way to receive passes from their fellow players, such as air travel and ground passes. These movements are necessary to help keep the game going.
How To Shoot The Ball

When the opposing team’s net is in sight, it’s time to shoot the ball towards the goal. Scoring goals are required to win the game, so knowing how to do it is very important. Shooting the ball well includes tactics such as:
- Using correct body positioning
- Correct foot placement
- Optimal ball placement
- Coordination with the rest of the team to set up the goal
Soccer classes help break these skills down in ways that kids can easily understand, and have fun doing so.
How To Dribble

In soccer, as in basketball, “dribbling” is how players move the ball around the field. In soccer classes, children will learn to defend the ball from the opposing team by dribbling. This skill requires training in movement, perception, and coordination. This exercise helps improve fitness levels and endurance when practiced in just a short period of time.
How To Goalkeep
Shooting goals are what determine the winner of the game, so this skill is very important. But just as valuable as scoring goals is guarding your own net from the opposing team. Kids will learn both offense and defense skills when learning the art of goalkeeping. Our soccer classes will teach them how to dive, defend, and direct the ball away from the net and back into the field.

How Soccer Classes Benefit Kids

All Star Sports is more than an activity center; our classes help kids discover their potential both physically and socially. At our soccer training, your child will excel in the following ways:
Regular Healthy Exercise
Physical activity is an essential part of overall wellbeing. Children between the ages of 6 and 17 should get a mix of aerobic, bone, and muscle-strengthening activities at least three days a week. Soccer classes help fill that requirement.

Every kid needs friends, and soccer classes are a great place to find them. Children will learn to work together with their peers toward a common goal: winning the game. In addition, kids will learn the art of sportsmanship with players of the opposing team, and how to win and lose gracefully.
Improved Self-Esteem
You don’t have to be a star athlete to participate in soccer class. With time and practice, children will be amazed at how well they can learn new skills that may not have always come easily. Our patient and accommodating staff can help children of varying athletic abilities discover their potential and challenge themselves in healthy ways.
